I was jumpin for joy when I saw that they included this stamp set in the new catalog. I think it will be a big hit. I know I am going to continue to use it. It makes great man, women, birthday, thankyou, you name it cards. Even though the Designer Paper is no longer available, you can purchase it as a download for My Digital Studio! This card uses some retired DSP. I used Not Quite Navy and Always Artichoke together. It is kind of a different color combination for me but it turned out very pretty.
I love this stamp set. I wish I had not waited until late March to get it but at least I did it. The Botanical Gazette paper is so much fun. This paper and stamp set works great for frilly cards but you could really make it work for masculine cards as well. Thank you’s, Spring, Summer, Birthday — whatever. Love, Love, Love it.
Today I want to feature the bird. I saw this idea at mylovelyinspirations.com For this one I use the Concord Crush DSP paper pack that you can get for free when you host a workshop and have $150.00 in sales. This is a level one hostess gift and come in all the new in-colors. The sentiment is from the Elements of Style Stamp set. Then I used the Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon and popped the bird and the sentiment up with dimensionals. The Sentiment is punched with the Modern Label punch. Punched one in Concord Crush, cut it in half and glued one half to each end of the sentiment that was punched out on Very Vanilla CS. This is a fun way to accent this little punch. Three little brads also added just the right touch to the corner. The bird is also stamped in the Concord Crush. If you are into purple, this fits the bill.
The next color combination was Rose Red and Pumpkin pie with the Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP. The Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon was used here. This also made a bright and cheery card.
I could have gone on forever and made one in every color but there are other fun things too. This last one I will show you I used the Botanical Gazette DSP and used some Sticky strip to create a scrunched ribbon effect with the Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon. I also sponged the edges of the DSP with Not Quite So Navy and layered it on Not Quite So Navy Card Stock. I used three little silver brads and that seemed to coordinate nicely.
What I love about this paper is the little birds. Just like the large stamp only smaller. What could be more fun?
Again, if you are interested in this stamp set, don’t wait, get it soon before the end of April. If you have any questions about making these cards, just ask.
