I am not certain that Wonderfally is really a word except it seemed to fit my card for today. This one was created using a card I saw through my online membership to Stamp Nation. It is a great place to get ideas. It only costs me $7.95 per month and I have learned so much from this site.
The leaves on this project came from the Wonderfall Stampset that is in the Holiday Catalog and cut out using the coordinating die.
I pulled out my big Shot to add texture to the More Mustard Cardstock with my square lattice folder and to the Chocolate Chip Cardstock I used the new Woodgrain embossing folder from the Holiday Catalog. The frame around my sentiment was created from the Designer Frames Folders. Check out that beautiful button. I can’t get enough of the new Bronze Buttons. The sentiment is a retired stamp but there are plenty to choose from in the current catalog. I used More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and some Chocolate Chip ink.
By the way, Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow! I am so excited as my college son will be home to share the holiday with us and so bummed at the same time as my oldest daughter and grandchildren will not be joining us. I hope you are all surrounded by friends and family this season.
Don’t forget about the on-line extravaganza going on currently — You can get some great deals that are sure to make a fun Crafty Christmas.
I spent the week-end making this cute bag and card for my Nephew and Niece’s wedding this weekend. I had so much fun creating it. My sister said her main wedding color is purple. I not sure exactly which purple but I think Elegant Eggplant sounded somewhat like the purple she described so that is what I used. It turned out beautiful anyway. This is using the pattern made by Andrea Walford. If you were to make a $50 purchase from me, I would share this tutorial with you. I have had so much fun using her pattern to create a lot of purses and cards for my sisters for their upcoming birthdays. I will share those with you another day. It was the purfect thing to use for a gift bag for my wedding gift to them also.
This project used a variety of items. It is so much fun to have a variety of tools and items when trying to put a project together. The bag was made from Elegant Eggplant DSP from the Regal Paper Pack. I used the new Wisteria Wonder CS for the flower sponged with Elegant Eggplant ink. I then spritzed the flower with Shimmer Mist. In fact, I used a lot of shimmer mist on this flower and while the photo doesn’t show it, it is so sparkly and pretty. I used three sets of leaves made with the Little leaves Sizzlit Die (#114511). I used a large rhinestone in the center from the retired pretties kit, but you could use any brad and stick a rhinestone from the jewels on top and it would have the same effect. I used Pear Pizzaz Seam binding ribbon around the bottom of this bag and Pear Pizzaz CS for the handles and the leaves. The leaves were sponged with the new Lucky Limeade.
Then for the tag I took my brand new stamp from the stampset “Occasions Alphabet” (123598). I actually got this set free from Stampin’ Up for sales I did a few months back during Sale-a-brations. How cool is that? This was the perfect occassion to use this stamp.
The card also has this same cute flower on it. It was made the same way. To make these flowers, use your scallop punch and punch out 6 circles. Sponge the edges for additional color, then spray both sides with water and scrunch them up really tight. Then open them up, stack together, put a brad through the center, and then pull the scallops up around the brad. These are so easy to make and so cute. For the card I used the leaf on my bird punch as it was smaller but you could use the die if you wanted.
I used the Vintage wallpaper embossing folder (#120175) to make my base card. It is sponged with White craft ink which really made the pattern stand out. I used the En Francais background stamp (#109521) on Whisper White background to create a focal point on this card. I used the scallop Border Punch (#119882) with both Elegant Eggplant and Whisper White to border it. I used some retired 1/4″ Eggplant ribbon. I tied on one of those cute little tags made with the Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190) and the Tiny Tags (#118592) stamp set. I am so pleased with how it turned out. Hope she likes it as much as I do.
Thanks for stopping in. If you have any questions, just drop me a comment. To purchase any of the things to make these projects, just shop in my on-line store. Have a great day.
I have a friend who’s son has joined the Marines and will be leaving for basic training this month. She wanted some thank you cards made that she could send to people who have done some thoughtful things for them. When she asked if I could make her some, I was really delighted. Since this is about as American as you can get -joining the armed forces, it was really fun to do this for her around the 4th of July. I had just ordered and received the stampset “Courage” and now I would have the chance to put it to good use. I had a retired set of stamps also that I purchased a few years ago when my own son joined the National Guard. I just knew between them I could come up with something fun.
Ink: Night of Navy
Paper: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Real Red
This was a very fast and simple card to put together but she loved it. The other two were made using my retired stampset called, “The Free and the Brave”.
Both of these cards were created basically the same way, just a different stamp
Stamps: The Free and the Brave (retired), Classic Stars Wheel (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Embellishments: Night of Navy ribbon (retired)
Tools: Square Lattice Embossing folder, Aqua painter for the Flag
This was such a simple lay out. My friend had a hard time deciding which one she liked so I made her some of all three. We stamped Thank you inside.
I have had a lot of fun this past weekend making cards. The best part about it was stamping with my Mother Karen and my daughter Nicole. Making something beautiful and fun with your hands and doing it with those you love - What could be better. I want to show you the cards my daughter created today. She is 14 and really getting good at this card making thing.
This one is using my Vintage Vogue stamp set, some of the free paper we earned for purchases during Sale-a-brations and some 1/2 pearls from the retired pretties kit. Very simple and cute. Love it.
Next she created a butterfly card using the Beautiful wings embosslit folder. This is such a fun thing to own. I just purchased it a month ago and I am finding all kinds of projects to use it on. I love it.
Last but not least she used a free set she chose for us call “So Happy Together”. She used my Boho Blossom punch and cut some DSP paper out and some out of Pretty in Pink. She also used the flower stamp and cut them out on the Daffodil Delight paper. Then she stamped the cute little partridges and added them. So much fun.
Tomorrow I will start to show you the fun things I have been creating. I purchased the Nature’s Walk Stamp set and the matching Designer Paper. I have just had so much fun with it and came up with some really fun things. Until then — Happy stamping!
Everyone had a really great time making this cute make and take card. It is using the new “Create a Cupcake” stamp set and coordinating “Build a cupcake” punch. These are new items from the Occasions mini catalog. That is one thing I love about Stampin Up, is the coordinating stamps and punches!
This also uses that really cute Framed Tulips Embossing Folder. This goes with just about anything you can imagine to put on a card. I also used the Perfect Polka-dots embossing folder to add some texture and interest to the cupcake frosting.
You can see on the right my smudges. I had ink on my fingers and that really doesn’t come off if you touch where you shouldn’t. Good to be aware so you don’t ruin your card at the last minute. I showed it anyway as it is a good example of what not to do and the ladies did so much better than me with that and they all ended up with a really cute take home.

Crumb Cake, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight Card stock
Framed Tulips and Perfect Polka-dots Embossing Folders
Build A Cupcake Punch and the Boho Blossoms punch
1. 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake and fold it in half. Then emboss one half with the framed tulips emboss folder. Then sponge the edges with early espresso ink.
2. Emboss scraps of Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, and Daffodil Delight card stock using the perfect polka-dots embossing folder and punch out the frosting tops using your punch. Save a cherry for one of your cupcakes. Then sponge the edges with the coordinating ink. This will really make them pop.
3. Punch a small flower out of Rose Red card stock using the Boho Blossoms punch. Sponge the edges of this with the Rose Red ink.
4. Stamp three of the cupcake papers with Early Espresso Ink onto a scrap of Crumb Cake card stock and punch them out using the punch. I did two of one design and one of the other just for variety.
5. Cut a piece of Rose Red card stock for layering – 4 3/8″ X 3 1/8″.
6. Cut a piece of White card stock at 4 1/4″ X 3″.
7. Stamp Birthday wishes in Rose Red at the top of the white card stock piece.
8. Assemble your cupcakes and adhere them to the card. Place a cherry on one, tie your hemp twine around the middle one and put the flower with the little rhinestone on the third one. I used a glue dot to put the one down with the hemp twine as the twine makes it stick out a little on the card and this will hold it down a little better.
